Novak's weld-in engine mounts for the Jeep TJ & LJ Wranglers provide immense strength and a precise GM Gen I & II Small Block V8 and V6 engine installation.
These mounts are available in either weld-in style or bolt-in style, and detailed instructions will guide to an ideal installation.
The Novak mounts feature thick 3/16” laser cut and CNC bent steel construction. Engineered using a welded box design geometry to provide maximum strength and assure that they will survive even the wildest V8's. When the option is available, we recommend the weld-in version for strength, simplicity and just a cleaner installation. If a welder is not available the bolt-in is an excellent option saving that step.
Each mount kit comes with our high-grade Nitrile isolators that are specified for that ideal balance of isolation and firmness with the power of modern engines. Substantial 5/8” through bolts capture the assembly. Replacement bushing sets are available below should replacement ever be needed.
Geometry of the mounts is compact to provide clearance for all stock components including steering shaft with its pillow block and the recommended exhaust headers below.

As the mounts are welded to the frame, any finish on the frame side brackets as well as the frame would be burned. You may enamel, powder coat or otherwise finish the bracketry and adjacent frame area to your own style. Engine plates are coated in a rust resistant finish but may also be painted.
Each mount set contains left and right frame mounts, two sets of urethane bushings, two engine plates, along with the necessary installation hardware and instructions.
**Fan/shroud assemblies ordered with the radiator come pre-assembled for a “drop-in” package saving substantial time on your part.
Note, coil type ignitions (a signal not coming from an ECM) require special modules to function properly)
Removal of the factory frame mounts for both 2.5L I4 and 4.0L I6 engine Wranglers is required. This is best done with a separating disc, plasma cutter, torch, or reciprocating saw, followed up by a grinder or flap-wheel.
The bolt-in version of our mounts uses the factory I4 frame horns, which will be bolted through the top and be trimmed back for clearance and drilled and bolted or optionally plug-welded at the flanks.
We have predetermined engine placement for the installer. There is a very fine window in which the GM Gen. I & II engines can properly fit into the TJ Jeep, and we've done this design legwork already.
These mounts feature an integrated platform for the reinstallation of your steering shaft carrier bearing bracket, as you may be removing the factory version. If installed correctly, the safety of your steering system will meet or exceed the factory specifications. Whether and how this is done varies with the original engine in your Jeep and the type of mount selected. Some (but not all) models use an additional spacer bracket that is supplied.
